The 4 Decisions That Define Your Order

Custom cushions are simple in principle and fiddly in practice. Four choices determine almost everything else: size, fabric, printing process and quantity. Get those right and the rest is logistics.

1. Size — what is the cushion for?

A decorative throw pillow and a lumbar support cushion have completely different size logic. Measure what you already have rather than guessing — a tape measure beats a photo every time.

  • 40 × 40 cm — the safest all-round size. Works on most sofas, beds and window seats; also the most cost-efficient for wholesale orders.
  • 45 × 45 cm — the standard decorative square. Balanced presence, still easy to place.
  • 50 × 50 cm and above — for wide sofas, deep-seat loungers and window bays, where a smaller cushion looks lost.
  • 30 × 30 cm — small accent pieces and lumbar cushions.

2. Fabric — decide by hand-feel, then by care

Cotton / cotton-linen Breathable, natural, matte. Best for bedrooms and summer use. Can crease — line dry, don’t tumble hot.
Snow-nail fleece The premium look. Soft sheen, great photo value, but pills over time and cannot be hot washed.
Plush velvet Rich colour and depth. Static and shedding; keep out of humid rooms.
Printed polyester Best durability and colour accuracy, fully washable, lower cost. The workhorse for print-heavy designs.

Do not go below 180 g/m². Lightweight fabric prints thin, distorts and wears out fast. Above 200 g/m² the pattern holds its shape and the cushion keeps its form.

3. Printing process — match it to your artwork

  • Photographs or gradients → direct-to-garment printing. Screen printing cannot hold a gradient; embroidery cannot hold a photo.
  • Logos, monograms, lettering → dye-sublimation for a soft hand-feel and unbroken strokes; screen printing for the most saturated colour on solid backgrounds.
  • Large solid colour blocks → screen printing. Cheapest per piece above 50 units.
  • Premium finish → embroidery, or dye-sublimation with a foil overlay for a metallic accent.

4. Quantity — the biggest lever on unit cost

Under 10 pieces, screen-print setup fees dominate. Between 10 and 50, direct-to-garment printing is usually cheaper. Above 50, screen printing starts to win. Above 300, you can hold your own colour and woven labels.

What we need from you

  • Artwork — vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) preferred. If you only have a photo, send the highest-resolution original you have, not a compressed screenshot.
  • Base colour — light or dark fabric. Dark backgrounds need a white under-layer, which adds one pass and slightly raises cost but gives a much brighter print.
  • Size and quantity — with a target delivery date.
  • Any branding — woven labels, tags, drawstrings, ribbon or a gift box.
Send artwork early. We can print a digital mock-up for layout confirmation before anyone cuts fabric, but only a physical sample tells you how the colour and hand-feel really land. We recommend one sample before any run above 20 pieces.

How the order runs

  • Day 0–2 — artwork preparation and a digital proof.
  • Day 3–7 — physical sample produced and shipped to you.
  • Day 8–10 — you approve the sample; we lock the specification.
  • Day 10–25 — production, quality check, vacuum compression, packing.
  • Day 25–32 — shipping.

Ready to start? Send your artwork and quantity — we will come back with a specification sheet, a sample plan and a firm quote within one business day.
